FSS Volumizing Complex PF



FSS Volumizing Complex PF uses a three-pronged approach to maximizing volume and curl retention. Plant-derived amino acids, a phosphated fluorinated polymer and date fruit are combined to provide a complex.


Rice amino acids provide a very low odor, low color-conditioning additive. Amino acids have been shown to improve the strength of hair, particularly hair that has been chemically treated. The general theory is that the amino acid penetrates into the hair shaft to provide moisture and add to the structural integrity of the hair. More over and perhaps most importantly amino acids produce a benefit, which is directly perceivable to the consumer through their sense of touch.


The date fruit itself is rich in simple carbohydrates (invert sugar1 and fructose), comprising up to 70% of the fruit. The remainder of the fruit is rich in organic acids (primarily lactic acid), folic and ascorbic acids, iron, potassium, calcium, magne­sium, sulfur, copper, phosphorus, thiamine, riboflavin, and biotin. On the hair, the organic acids of the biofermented date fruit extract will help to smooth and shrink the cuticle, while the carbohydrates increase the thickness.


A variety of work has been done with regard to the benefit of fluorinated material in hair care. Generally at high use levels fluorinated materials tend to weigh down the hair. However at low levels fluorinated materials can change the surface energy of polymers to bind the hair at distinct intersections. Which in turn sizably improves the poly­mers ability to produce a bouncy curl and increase volume in hair.


FSS Volumizing Complex PF may increase both the flexibility of the hair as well as perceived smoothness.
