SOFTISAN® 378

SOFTISAN® 378 is a specialty blend of triglycerides based on saturated even-numbered, unbranched natural fatty acids of vegetable origin. With its low melting point, it leaves a non-tacky and non-greasy film on the skin. It is free from antioxidants and other stabilizing additives. Blend of Caprylic/capric/myristic/stearic triglyceride

Formulators use Softisan 378 or AcquaSeal Coconut
to help prevent graininess with butters.

INCI Nomenclature: Caprylic/Capric/Myristic/Stearic
Solubility: Oil Soluble, Can be melted
Suggested Use Levels: 0.1-2.0%, when used with butters we recommend starting at 0.1% and higher if needed
Appearance: White Soft Paste (We recommend melting down prior to use)
Formulation Guidelines: Add to the oil phase of your formulation.
Storage: Protected from direct light and humidity at a temperature of 50°-77°F (10°-25°C)
Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
This product should be added to a formulation at the recommended usage rate.

Necessary

This is my go-to for stick products and solid serums intended for facial use. (Where you don’t want that waxy feeling!) Research backed penetration enhancer as well, which makes me feel less like I’m wasting actives.

I’ve been out for bit and hate working with mango butter because as already mentioned .5-1% stops those pesky grains from forming. Also feels amazing and brings a nongreasy slip.

great to use in body butters

I use this in body butters and even in cleansing balms sometimes, to help minimize the problems with cooling shea butter. It spreads well, has a nice glide, and gives an extra "oomph" to the product.
