Cupuacu Butter

Cupuacu Butter is obtained from the fruit seed of the cupuaçu tree (Theobroma grandiflorum) found growing wild in the eastern the Brazilian Amazonia. The seeds contain approximately 48% of a sweet-smelling “butter” which is stable and has a high capacity for water absorption, often being compared functionally with Lanolin. Cupuacu Butter is an excellent emollient for cosmetic formulations and may be used to prevent drying of the skin and development of wrinkles, to reduce degeneration of skin cells, and to restore flexibility, moisture retention ability and elasticity to the skin. Suggested uses for Cupuacu Butter include creams, lotions, balms, make-up foundations, bar soaps and massage creams.

My new favorite butter

I wish I had bought this a long time ago! It has the most amazing, almost silicone like, skin feel, and it's not at all heavy or greasy, even when used at high percentages. I loved it so much I purchased a larger container. It has a bit of a soft chocolate scent, mixed with a slight dairy note, it's difficult to explain, but it's unique, in a good way. It enhances the skin feel of every anhydrous product I formulate, and it's also amazing in emulsions. It's fast absorbing for a butter, leaves a wonderful velvety skin feel, and helps greasier ingredients feel a bit lighter. I strongly suggest giving it a try, it's an amazing moisturizer, and I can see why it's called the vegan alternative to Lanolin. FSS is my favorite vender for this butter, and they are all great people and very knowledgeable. I'm always satisfied with my purchases here.
