FSS EMULSIFYING WAX C20
FSS Emulsifying Wax C20 is a complete emulsifying system. Typically the use of additional stabilizing or gelling agents are not required when using FSS Emulsifying Wax C20. This will of course allow chemists to develop more cost effective formulations while also reducing production time, freeing warehouse space and easing raw material management. The product is a unique blend of cetearyl alcohol and ceteareth-20.
In addition to providing emulsifying properties these components also provide other benefits when added to a formula. The cetearyl alcohol increases opacity and viscosity while enhancing emolliency. Ceteareth-20 improves barrier formation to enhance hydration. It also helps improve product stability by increasing freeze resistance and reducing water evaporation.
FSS Emulsifying Wax C20 has a melting point of 46.0-55.0°C and is stable over a pH range of 3 to 12. It is also compatible with most oils & actives. The product should be added to the oil phase of an emulsion and heated to between 75 and 80°C. Moderate propeller agitation is useful when combining the oil and water phases. FSS Emulsifying Wax C20 is compatible with most gums and polymers that are typically used to adjust the texture of the formula.

This product should be added to a formulation at the recommended usage rate.
