Chlorophyll, present in the algae, allow the plants to harness sunlight for photosynthesis or to produce energy. Algae have been around for over 2 billion years and have become an integral part of human society. The plants are useful for personal skin and hair care products1.

Algae are known for hydration and conditioning benefits when used on the skin. Antioxidants present also protect skin from free radical damage and reduce the signs of premature aging. Vitamins A,B,C, and E are available to protect cells and tissue, and moisturize skin. Algae are used in cosmetic products for maintaining skin moisture, increasing elasticity, and detoxification3. Hair care products can also provide benefits with algae by strengthening hair follicles. As a natural cleanser or detox, algae can remove unwanted product or buildup from hair without drying out the hair. This property can reduce damage, prevent further damage, and repair split ends while providing hydration2. Please note: Product may change appearance if exposed to cold temperatures during shipment or storage. If this happens, please gently warm to 45-50°C and mix until normal appearance is restored.
