Younger-Looking is the New Young-Looking. New methods for promoting youthful skin are constantly being developed and fittingly, what is old is new again. Almost forced out of the market due to animal-derivative product objections, Collagen is having its second coming-out party and is dressed to impress! Finally, consumers can adorn their product shelves with a fully comparable, non-animal derived collagen. FSS Vegetable Collagen boasts the identical benefits users experience with animal-derived collagen, including the same appearance and consistency, without the unfavorable implementation of living creatures. Say no to new wrinkles and bye-bye to existing ones when you apply FSS Vegetable Collagen.
Recognized as one of the most essential and fibrous proteins, collagen is fundamental in maintaining the structural makeup of humans. Find this protein in most major elements of the skin, bones, cartilage and even teeth. Since its debut, collagen has been produced using animal-based derivatives. Although frowned upon by many, the cheek-turners enabled manufacturers to producing collagen from animal-derived materials. However, growing awareness and support of animal rights in addition to the Natural/ Organic movement has prompted formulators to create a product featuring comparable skin benefits to that of bovine-derived collagen. Finally, available technology employing vegetable and plant derivatives is being used to spearhead the second collagen movement.
Collagen forms insoluble fibers of high tensile strength intended to provide resistance and offer an elastic force over the skin. Collagen is created by fibroblasts which are special cells found in the dermal layer of the skin. Fibroblasts are responsible for the production of collagen, elastin and fibronectin. These three connective proteins serve as the structural support beams within the skin. Fibroblasts synthesize collagen within the cell and release it through exocytosis or the dispersion of molecules through the cell membrane. Once outside the cell, the collagen will self-assemble, creating the strong structure found within the skin.
In the nature of a true innovation, science rose to the challenge and created a vegetable-based collagen alternative using vegetable and plant derivatives. Finding a comparable product to animal-derived collagen not only allows manufacturers to capitalize on the recognized benefits of traditional collagen, it endorses marketing of natural, plant-derived products that offer equivalent hydrating, conditioning and form-filling benefits.
FSS Vegetable Collagen is the plant-derived from zea mays, triticum aestivum & glycine max, as an alternative solution to soluble collagen. A comparison study of the Vegetable Collagen and Soluble Collagen was conducted and suggests that, in fact, Vegetable Collagen might be more suitable for promoting the hydrating and conditioning properties desired than its competition. Equilibrium moisture isotherms were tested to analyze the ability of Vegetable Collagen to bind moisture. The two materials, Vegetable Collagen and Soluble Collagen were measured and placed in controlled humidity chambers. The samples remained in the chambers for sixteen weeks while they equilibrated. During this time, in two week intervals, the percent moisture uptake was calibrated relative to the protein of the material. The results show that Vegetable Collagen has superior moisturizing ability when compared to a 1% soluble collagen solution.
Through the development of FSS Vegetable Collagen provides a competitive and alternate method for animal rights conscious consumers to have the same skin enhancing advantages as advocates of soluble collagen using plant-derived materials. Soluble in water, FSS Vegetable Collagen may be added to a variety of products to enhance the moisturizing and conditioning experience of the consumer. FSS Vegetable Collagen has been tested and supported for improved moisturization to impart a feeling of smooth skin that radiates youth and beauty.
