FSS Walnut Extract G is an aqueous extract produced from the leaves of Juglans nigra. Studies have indicated that Juglone is capable of increasing SPF. This finding is particularly of interest as walnut extracts have shown poor UV absorbance relative to its efficacy, indicating its potential to function as an anti-irritant. With the potential of increasing SPF, walnut extract can potentially be useful in both skin and hair applications to provide protectant benefits from UV radiation. When used in hair care walnuts are known to restore hydration to the hair while preventing breakage.Additionally, walnut leaf extract is rich in various antioxidants like flavonoids, carotenoids and tannins and has been shown to provide anti-microbial properties.
