FSS Yeast Extract Plus PF

Baker’s yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, is an ingredient that made the switch from the nutritional space to the personal care industry in a unique way. This active provides skin lightening results, thanks to its standardized natural niacinamide content. (18.0 – 23.0%)

This unique yeast-powered ingredient is proven to inhibit tyrosinase, a key enzyme in melanin biosynthesis, involved in determining the color of mammalian skin and hair.

Tyrosinase is one of the causes of hyperpigmentation, an over-production of dermal melanin pigment, leading to melasmas, freckles, age spots, and liver spots. The ability of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to inhibit tyrosinase provides excellent evidence for its use in the personal care industry as a skin lightening active for use in treating hyperpigmentation.

Storage:
Store in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 32°C. Based on stability studies, the optimum storage temperature for maximization of shelf life is 23 - 25°C. However, it may be stored at temperatures between 16 and 32°C if such specific temperature control is not available. Do not freeze.
